2011 DEMO DERBY RULES UPDATE
- Plating door seams will be allowed (maximum 10 gauge material and 3 inches wide).
- Frame patching for rust will be allowed but must be minimal and not disguised for strengthening frame (maximum 10 gauge material).
- Body patching for rust or damage will be allowed but must be kept to a minimum (maximum 14 gauge material).
- Derby cars must have original firewall; patching (maximum 14 gauge material) will be allowed but must be kept to a minimum and not used for strengthening.
- Roof to trunk support bars are NOT permitted.
- No rear wedge shaped cars (intentional crushing of rear quarters and trunk to create a solid wedge effect will NOT be allowed).
- Intentional crushing roofs and rear station wagon bodies to create a solid rear section will NOT be permitted.
- Derby cars that passed tech at the May 28th Derby at the Buck will pass tech for the remainder of the 2011 season provided NO ADDITIONAL strengthening is found by Tech officials.
Steel Thickness:
- 10 Gauge is .135 thick
- 14 Gauge is .075 thick
